Hello, my name is Joanne (also known as La Mort Custom Tattoo), and I have been professionally tattooing since 2012. I am currently based in Leicester city centre.

Throughout my career, I have explored various tattoo styles; however, over the years, I have developed a specialisation in fine line, dot work, and illustrative styles. I am passionate about tattooing, the art community, and creating unique designs that incorporate texture, movement, and depth. My portfolio includes both elegant and classic ornamental tattoos as well as pieces inspired by darker themes such as gothic, occult, and witchy aesthetics. I enjoy working on detailed projects involving intricate designs and precise dot shading. My personal style has evolved naturally, focusing on what I do best and what I love.

I have designed and made hundreds of pieces, including mandalas, decorative patterns, floral designs, animals, and custom artwork based on individual client inspiration. All designs are hand-drawn and created by me; I do not replicate work from other artists.

With extensive experience in the tattoo industry, I possess a thorough understanding of what constitutes a quality tattoo, as well as the expectations of a professional tattoo artist and studio. Prior to my tattoo career, I studied fine art and gained diverse experience in customer service roles. I am committed to providing a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for all clients.

In addition to my tattoo work, I have a strong creative inclination and enjoy designing and hand making crafts. I have taught myself glass etching and wood burning; however, my favourite projects involve creating my own decorative ghost figurines called ‘Animula’ (Latin for “Little Souls”). These are uniquely handcrafted from clay, hand-painted, glazed, and individually named. They are available for purchase at the studio and make thoughtful gifts. Availability varies based on the time required to create them, but enquiries are always welcome. Custom pieces can also be created upon request.

On a more personal note, I love animals. I have three cats and a corn snake named Betty. I also aspire to own a goat someday 🐐. I live with my husband, and we enjoy traveling, attending concerts and festivals with friends, spending quality time with loved ones, and visiting traditional pubs. I absolutely love enjoy collecting oddities, antiques and eclectic knickknacks—a bit of a magpie!

I am friendly, approachable, and always happy to listen! I enjoy working with clients to ensure they receive attentive care and to understand their personality and tattoo ideas. As a perfectionist, I bring a high level of care and attention to detail, which I believe is essential in this profession.
